Suicide awareness in Utah

Connection can be the first step toward help.

RSLNT Wellness is proud to partner with the i love you, bro PROJECT and its founder, Joe Tuia'ana, to help our community recognize pain, start safer conversations, support families, and find a clear next step when mental health feels overwhelming.

A community-first message: notice one another, stay present, and help make the next step easier to find.

Why this matters

You do not need the perfect words to show up.

Suicide awareness is not only a campaign, a number, or a single day on the calendar. It is the everyday practice of noticing when someone is carrying more than they can say, asking a direct and caring question, and staying close enough to help them reach support.

The i love you, bro PROJECT grew from a moment when Joe Tuia'ana and his daughters encountered a man in a suicide crisis. Joe's response was simple, human, and deeply present: “I love you, bro.” That moment became the beginning of a broader mission to make hope, love, and connection easier to offer.

Our partnership brings two kinds of support into the same conversation: community connection from i love you, bro PROJECT and clinical next-step guidance from RSLNT Wellness.

The partnership

From “I'm here” to “here's what we can do next.”

A caring friend does not have to become a therapist. A clinician does not replace a person's community. The strongest support respects both roles.

01

Start with connection

i love you, bro PROJECT helps make caring language, honest conversation, and human presence feel possible when someone is hurting. A message, a call, or sitting beside someone can be the beginning of a safer next step.

02

Make the next step clear

RSLNT Wellness helps people and families sort through symptoms, safety concerns, and care options. That can include counseling, medication management, or a clinical evaluation when a treatment path needs a licensed provider.

03

Keep people connected

The goal is not a handoff that leaves a person alone. It is a coordinated bridge from community support to appropriate professional care, with family and friends included when the person wants that support.

When support needs a guide

You do not have to diagnose the problem or choose the treatment alone.

Sometimes the person you love needs more than encouragement. They may be living with depression, OCD, PTSD, anxiety, sleep disruption, or another mental health concern. RSLNT Wellness in Provo, Utah, helps you understand what may be happening and what the next right step could be.

That next step may be counseling, medication management, or a clinical evaluation for TMS therapy in Provo. For eligible depression—and, depending on the protocol, certain OCD care—your clinician can evaluate whether TMS belongs in the plan. PTSD and anxiety care often begins with trauma-informed counseling, medication review, or both; when major depression is also part of the picture, TMS may be considered as part of a broader plan.

You and your family are the reason for the journey. RSLNT is the guide who helps make the clinical path clearer, safer, and easier to take one step at a time.

Support can include family, friends, trusted peers, and professional care working in the same direction.

What you can do when someone is struggling

Stay direct and calm. Say what you notice. Ask if they are thinking about suicide. A direct question does not plant the idea; it can open a door to honesty and support.

Listen before solving. You do not need a speech. You can say, “I am glad you told me,” “I am here with you,” or “Let's find help together.”

Bring in more support. If safety is urgent, use emergency help. If it is not an immediate emergency but you are worried, connect with 988, a trusted clinician, or a qualified local resource. Do not carry the situation alone.

Keep the connection going. Follow up after the first conversation. A check-in later that day or the next morning can help someone feel remembered rather than managed.

These are general awareness steps, not a substitute for emergency services or a personalized safety plan.

Meet the founder

Joe Tuia'ana leads with presence.

Joe is the founder and CEO of the i love you, bro PROJECT. His story began with his daughters and a stranger in crisis, but the heart of the story is not a dramatic rescue. It is the decision to treat a person as a person, stay close, and choose compassion before certainty.

That message matters to RSLNT because clinical care works best when it is connected to real life. People do not arrive as diagnoses. They arrive as parents, partners, veterans, first responders, friends, siblings, and neighbors who need to be heard and helped without shame.
